GeoCatch is currently developing a pool of people who have skills in natural resource management and are willing to undertake volunteer or short contractural employment for specific tasks. The Pool has been running for a number of years and has successfully been used by GeoCatch staff to undertake discreet works within the catchment The Pool seeks to constantly inform people of the requirements and opportunities for employment and is open so that people can apply at any time.

GeoCatch believes that the Pool is an effective way of skilling up people as well as setting out tasks within the Geographe community.  Contracts undertaken include skills in water way assessment, river resoration/protection, revegitation, weed control, weed mapping, fauna surveys, bushland sureying, water way assessment, water sampling & quality monitoring, seed collection, herbarium preparation, macroinvertebrate monitoring, computer inputting, GIS data analysis and database development.

The attached Application Form (see document download) provides an opportunity for presenting your work skills and experience to be eligible for the Pool. Please fill in all sections with relevant information.  This information will only be used by GeoCatch and relevant employment agencies, and will not be provided to other parties.   

Applicants need to submit a completed Application form identifying:

- Previous Experience & rates of payment.    - Qualifications, Skills, Licences.

- Insurance details (if held).  - Preferred work times and geographical areas.  

- Applicants may also submit a CV.

-       When tasks are required to be undertaken, GeoCatch staff identify the most suitable person from the Pool, using the skill list, experience and preferred work conditions recorded.  This person is then contacted directly to ask if they are willing to undertake the chosen task.

-      To be employed by GeoCatch applicants will need to be covered with adequate Public Liability and Personal Accident insurance. For specific jobs applicants may also need Professional Indemnity insurance, this can be achieved by having your own insurance or being willing to be employed by an employment agency. By being employed through an agency, you will be covered for insurance. GeoCatch will assist successful applicants with being employed through the agency.
