Gil has been an active community member of GeoCatch since early 2007. Professionally, Gil divides his time as a Marine Education Officer for the south west with the Department of Fisheries co-ordinating volunteer and educational programs. He is the owner operator of his own reticulation business and assistant manager of a hardware outlet. Gil holds a Diploma in Tourism Management, a Cert IV in Land Management and Coastcare and he is also a qualified snorkel instructor.
Currently residing in Busselton, Gil is affiliated with and devotes many networking hours to other governmental, educational and volunteer organisations. These include the Department of Environment and Conservation, the Busselton Dunsborough Environment Centre, the Geographe Community Nursery, the Dolphin Discovery Centre, UWA and Murdoch Uni. Gil also assists on a number of current GeoCatch projects those being , Ribbons of Blue, the Busselton Wetlands Eco-Tourism project, works on Vasse River water monitoring, coastal conservation and seagrass monitoring.
